Blackwater Falls State Park

Located in the Allegheny Mountains of Tucker County, Blackwater Falls State Park is named for the amber waters of Blackwater Falls, a 62-foot cascade tinted by the tannic acid of fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. The falls, the main attraction of Blackwater Falls State Park, are accessible from steps and several viewing platforms that allow visitors to enjoy scenic views year-round. Blackwater Falls, and nearby Elakala Falls, Lindy Point and Pendleton Point Overlook, are some of the most photographed sites in West Virginia. The park offers lodging, and many outdoor recreational opportunities.

Policies

Written Cancellation Policy
Reservations may be cancelled at any time for a credit toward a future reservation equal to the total amount paid. For Cabins: Reservations cancelled at least 60 days prior to arrival may request a refund for the amount of the deposit paid. Lodge Rooms: Reservations cancelled at least 48 hours prior to check-in may request a refund for the amount of deposit paid.
Written Deposit Policy
For Cabins: A deposit of 50% is required at time of booking. Remaining balance is due 7 days prior to arrival. For reservations made within 7 days, full rental fee is required at time of booking. For Lodge Rooms: A deposit of first night's room and taxes is required at time of booking. Remaining balance is due at check in.
Check In
Check in for both cabins and lodge rooms is at 4 p.m.
Check Out
Check out for lodge rooms is at 11 a.m. Check out for cabins is at 10 a.m.
Pets Policy
Pets are welcome in designated pet-friendly cabins and lodge rooms for a onetime fee of $40 per stay. Dogs and cats are the only pets permitted in state parks and forests. Pets must be leashed and restrained. To book a pet friendly lodge room or cabin at Blackwater Falls State Park please call 304-259-5216.
Other Policy
Classic cabin guests will be provided one free bundle of firewood per night of stay, additional bundles can be purchased from the park office. Vacation Cabins have gas fireplaces, so no firewood is provided or needed.
